5 questions to help you turn your challenges and obstacles into opportunities

Reader,

I never wanted to be a mom.

Until I became one.

That's how many of my most rewarding accomplishments in life and career have been.

So now I've learned never to say never.

Instead, I stay open to what life offers me, embracing the challenges as an opportunities to discover why and how it will turn out to be the best thing for me.

Like:

  • reluctantly becoming our family's sole/primary earner.
  • getting into a 6-figure business debt from a failed business.
  • delaying my dream of quitting my job to be a full-time entrepreneur.

One version of the story could be that none of my dreams have come true.

A better version is that these 'challenges' are precisely what I needed in order to make my dreams come true.

Here's how it played out:

  • becoming the breadwinner made me realize the power of financial independence and empowerment.
  • the 6-figure debt made me get smart about money, business, ROI and re-launched my entrepreneurial journey.
  • having a job while growing my business on the side gave me creative and financial freedom to build something sustainable.

All these together helped me get crystal clear about my vision, my values and why I do what I do - which is to empower moms and show them they can have:

  • the time they want to spend with their kids
  • the money to provide the best life for them
  • the energy to pursue their own dreams and goals

If you're resisting your current situation, frustrated it's getting in the way of where you want to go, ask yourself these 5 questions to turn this challenge into an opportunity:

  1. What about this is making me feel this way? e.g. Getting interrupted just when I have time for myself.
  2. What exactly is it I'm feeling? e.g. I'm not sure I have what it takes, it's too late for me.
  3. What can I learn from this? e.g. How can I do this in the time I have?
  4. How will I apply this lesson? e.g. What's THE MOST important thing to get me to where I want to go? How will I make it happen with the time I've got?
  5. When will I do this? Hint: The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time is today. A cliché but that's why it's true.

Shifting the way I see things always helps me use my challenges and obstacles as opportunities to help me get where I want to go in a better way.

This is what I help working women and moms do.
