Reader, Yesterday I had the 'perfect"'schedule planned for my side business:
Then I found out my son needed surgery - not life-threatening, but last-minute to remove an abscess that was causing him pain. The doctor's travel schedule meant it had to happen immediately. My morning routine became hospital parking and insurance forms. My 'power hour' became responding to messages and DMs from a waiting room chair. My early bedtime? I wrote half of this newsletter from his recovery room. Here's what years of trying to 'optimize' my way to success has taught me: The magic isn't in the perfect schedule. It's in becoming someone who can build a meaningful career from anywhere.
Working moms don't need perfect conditions to create fulfilling careers. We need to become women who can work with whatever life throws at us. Because there will always be unexpected surgeries, emergency appointments, and last-minute changes. But there will also always be small pockets of possibility. Even in hospital chairs and recovery rooms. What if instead of fighting against the chaos of working motherhood, you learned to work with it? What if you could create a career that bends with your life instead of breaking under the pressure? What if you could do fulfilling work, have real time for your kids, AND maintain financial independence? This is exactly what I help working moms figure out through my 1:1 coaching program. Not by giving you another impossible schedule to follow, but by helping you design a career that actually fits your real life. If you're tired of choosing between career success and being present for your family, I'd love to chat. Just reply to this email with 'LET'S TALK' and I'll send you details about how we can work together. Talk soon, Sharon P.S. My son is doing great and already planning how he can get back to his karting. Kids are resilient - and so are we. |
