The magic happens in hospital waiting rooms

Reader,

Yesterday I had the 'perfect"'schedule planned for my side business:

  • 4:30am - Morning routine (yoga, meditation, journaling
  • 12:00pm - Lunch power hour on LinkedIn
  • 9:30pm - Early bedtime to do it all again

Then I found out my son needed surgery - not life-threatening, but last-minute to remove an abscess that was causing him pain.

The doctor's travel schedule meant it had to happen immediately.

My morning routine became hospital parking and insurance forms. My 'power hour' became responding to messages and DMs from a waiting room chair. My early bedtime? I wrote half of this newsletter from his recovery room.

Here's what years of trying to 'optimize' my way to success has taught me:

The magic isn't in the perfect schedule. It's in becoming someone who can build a meaningful career from anywhere.

  • Taking client calls from hospital waiting rooms
  • Writing ideas on my phone between nurse check-ins
  • Responding to emails while my son sleeps off anesthesia
  • Brainstorming during the quiet drive home

Working moms don't need perfect conditions to create fulfilling careers.

We need to become women who can work with whatever life throws at us.

Because there will always be unexpected surgeries, emergency appointments, and last-minute changes.

But there will also always be small pockets of possibility.

Even in hospital chairs and recovery rooms.

What if instead of fighting against the chaos of working motherhood, you learned to work with it?

What if you could create a career that bends with your life instead of breaking under the pressure?

What if you could do fulfilling work, have real time for your kids, AND maintain financial independence?

This is exactly what I help working moms figure out through my 1:1 coaching program. Not by giving you another impossible schedule to follow, but by helping you design a career that actually fits your real life.

If you're tired of choosing between career success and being present for your family, I'd love to chat.

Just reply to this email with 'LET'S TALK' and I'll send you details about how we can work together.

Talk soon,

Sharon

P.S. My son is doing great and already planning how he can get back to his karting. Kids are resilient - and so are we.

Hi Reader, I used to hide behind quote posts and faceless content. What would my corporate colleagues think if they saw me talking about my side hustle? What if my boss questioned my commitment? What if other moms judged me for 'trying to do it all'? So I stayed invisible. Safe updates only. No personal stories. No mention of my business. But here's what I realized: My fear of judgment was keeping me from helping the working mom scrolling at 11 PM, feeling completely trapped between a job...

Reader, If you’ve ever felt so overwhelmed by all the advice about 'how to grow your business' that you don’t know what to do anymore… I get it. As a full-time working mom myself, I know how hard it is to juggle family, career, and the dream of building something on the side. When we’re already stretched thin, the noise of conflicting strategies only adds to the exhaustion. This week on the podcast, I shared: Why overwhelm keeps you stuck (and what it’s really doing to your brain and body)...

Reader, It's been almost 10 years, but I'll never forget climbing those office steps thinking, 'There has to be more than this.' I had the title. I had the salary. But sitting in another pointless meeting while my kids were at daycare, I realized I was living someone else's definition of success. The 3rd Path Here's what led me to the 3rd path: After a failed 6-figure café venture left us in debt, I thought I had only two choices: climb the corporate ladder or stay home with the kids. The...
