There are many ways to build a career.

You can:

  • climb the corporate ladder
  • stay and deepen in your role
  • start a business
  • build something on the side

Most people don’t choose.

They default.

I didn’t.

I chose to build a business while keeping my job.

Not because it’s easy. But because the alternatives were unacceptable.

I didn’t want:

  • to depend on a single income
  • to worry about layoffs
  • to question if I could provide for my family

So I chose a path that gave me:

  • income stability (my job)
  • ownership and upside (my business)

But this path is hard.

There are days you’re exhausted behind wondering if you’re doing enough

And this is where most women stop.

Not because they can’t do it. But because they don’t have a strong enough reason to continue.

For me, the vision is clear.

I’m not just working.

I’m designing a career that:

  • supports my family
  • gives me options
  • and doesn’t rely on a single employer

That clarity matters.

Because when things get hard (and they will), you need something stronger than motivation.

You need conviction.

Over time, I’ve realised career design isn’t about doing more.

It’s about being intentional about 3 things:

1) What you build

Not just what you’re good at. But what you’re willing to keep building, even on hard days.

2) What pays

Not everything meaningful is profitable. You need both.

3) How you think

Because your ability to stay steady under pressure determines whether you keep going.

Most women don’t fail because they lack ability. They stop because they overthink they second-guess they spiral when things feel uncertain

That’s not a strategy problem.

That’s a career design problem.

If your career no longer supports the life you want…

It’s not about quitting your job.

It’s about redesigning how your career works for you.

If you’re ready to do that, here are two ways to start:

I help women build financial independence through their career, and through income of their own....

$1k/month isn’t life-changing money. But it’s transformational. It’s proof that the skills and experience you already have are enough to start, without quitting your job, without burning out, without a five-year plan. New here? Start with the worksheet "What's your $1k skill?" Download it here.

Most people are taught to build their lives around one source of income. Go to school. Get a good job. Work hard. Stay loyal. And everything will work out. I believed that too. Then life taught me otherwise. My husband and I shut down a business and were left with a six-figure debt. I returned to corporate life to recover. Shortly after, I was laid off while I was the sole provider for my family. That experience changed how I think about work forever. Not because jobs are bad. I've spent...
