Hello Reader, After taking a break from recording to review where I want to take this podcast, I’m back with a new episode focused on a topic I keep coming back to that's close to my heart - financial resilience. The personal finance space talks a lot about budgeting, saving, and investing, but I don’t see enough emphasis on the internal resilience that helps you stay steady when things change. With so much uncertainty right now—rising oil and petrol prices here in Singapore, and worries around jobs and business prospects—I recorded this episode to help you find more financial certainty in uncertain times. If you’re new here, I’m Sharon, and I help women who provide financially for their families stay calm so they can make clear decisions when money shifts through life-changing events like layoffs, redundancy, unexpected bills, or debt, to name but a few. In this episode, I also share my own story of starting a café with my husband that didn’t work out, the six-figure debt that followed, and how I became our family’s primary provider. After nearly three decades in HR hiring and firing, I also talk about what it really means when someone is let go and how to land on your feet. I’d love for you to listen and let me know what you think.
Have a great week. Sharon |

Most people are taught to build their lives around one source of income. Go to school. Get a good job. Work hard. Stay loyal. And everything will work out. I believed that too. Then life taught me otherwise. My husband and I shut down a business and were left with a six-figure debt. I returned to corporate life to recover. Shortly after, I was laid off while I was the sole provider for my family. That experience changed how I think about work forever. Not because jobs are bad. I've spent...

And the next day, the doubts came almost immediately. What if it doesn’t work? What were you thinking? You could’ve used that money for the kids’ university. — This is something people don’t talk about enough. Making decisions about money when you’re responsible for more than just yourself. — I didn’t make this decision...
